Just got off the phone with @Dr_JLJohnson. He tells me heโ€™s staying in the race for gov. and plans to file Monday. He had a stmt written to leave the race but has since โ€œtorn that statement upโ€ โ€œThe people of SC have overwhelmingly spoken up and they made their voices heard.โ€

In late 2022, the agency head salary commission, after studying other states, raised the pay for attorney general, superintendent of education, secretary of state, treasurer, comptroller general and commissioner of agriculture, which are all elected positions.

After a bunch of Republicans took leave during a pause on the hemp debate, we have receded for 10 minutes. Now looks like Massey meeting with a couple of Dem members, who he might need. Floor looks quite diminished at this point.
