In Japan, a Muslim professor rang the sacred bell at a Shinto shrine. He then recited the Islamic Azan there and declared, “There is no god but Allah.” He didn’t stop at just the Shinto shrine — he repeatedly performed the same actions in front of other shrines, temples, and Buddha statues as well. He later uploaded the video online. Japan is now debating its desecration laws. Many people are calling it a religious insult.

The Kirpan has been restricted or banned in public in countries such as Denmark and the UAE. No religious practice should be above the law. If Parliament decides a Kirpan cannot be carried in public, then that's the law of the land. In a democracy, the law is non negotiable.
