@JaredLankes You're not wrong about Gonzales, but trying to argue Hayes in any way is irresponsible. Even if he can play 3b better, I'd rather have a cardboard cut out hitting than him.

@pittguy21 @KodyDuncanPGH Yeaaaa there's no sure thing in baseball. If someone throws you 100M, you just take it. Go look at Evan White
English

@KodyDuncanPGH if he agreed to a 6-7 year deal for 100m, he should fire his agent immediately and check himself into western Psych. you are going to have to offer him 20m a year to even have a chance.
English

@CMF_Collazo @JonHeyman Yeaaaa that's a bad take. Going off of awards instead of current numbers.... probably have some sort of analytic for that.

@JonHeyman Imagine having Smith over Raleigh and telling a country that you’re trying to win..
De Rosa has lost his g’damn mind

@Mr_Husky1 I didn't scroll through all of the posts, but they are for a cookoo clock. My dad has one from Germany and those look exactly like it. They are the weights too have it run.

Can’t hit? His OPS plus his last 4 seasons was 137, 170, 150 and 143

Mickey Mantle announces his retirement, March 1, 1969. After 18 seasons, Mantles body, particularly his famously bad knees and legs, simply could not endure the grueling demands of the sport anymore. His final season in 1968 saw his batting average dip to .237, bringing his career average down to .298, which was a point of personal frustration for The Mick. Mantle finished with 536 career home runs, three American League MVP awards, seven World Series championships. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 1974. What are your thoughts and memories of Mickey Mantle?

@mlbtraderumors Can come back to Pittsburgh I'm ok with that
English

@Ken_Rosenthal Ya I don't understand the drive some fans have to want to sign him. If you're looking for a DH, he's an option you're looking at in say June if you need someone. Go pursue a better option. Cutch was great, a legend in Pittsburgh, but father time always wins.

Things are awkward between Andrew McCutchen and the Pirates. But conflict might have been unavoidable. Column: nytimes.com/athletic/70171…

@JonHeyman This is a really bad take if you're including tennis/ golf/ other solo sport athletes

@JonHeyman Coming soon to the MLB: The 2027 Lockout! Where teams will ban defferals, set a ceiling and floor so other teams can play baseball too! But wait there's more! The PA will have to COMPROMISE and not get the players everything under the sun! Wow! Such an amazing time, can't wait...
English

@EvanDrellich I mean that's always been the answer. I'm more worried about the PA not conforming.

An important message:
A cap would never arrive without a floor, and a floor would never arrive without a cap. They go together.
There might well continue to be neither in baseball — but there would never be one without the other.
RichinLA12@RichinLa12
@EvanDrellich Are they going for a floor, too?

I came up with 4 players who aren't popular trade targets but would be good fits for the Pirates. My vision was foiled slightly with Tucker not going to Toronto and Bichette not going to Philly, but I still like my list. Check it out!

@mlbtraderumors His other numbers are extremely worrisome. He's never going to hit 40+homers at PNC Park. I hope he gets paid wherever he goes, but I really hope it's not in Pittsburgh
English

If things weren't already wild enough in Pittsburgh sports tonight, the #Pirates have interest in a 49-homer slugger:

@IanJaeger29 Not that it matters what party she is with, just be factual instead of an ignorant moron.
