Citizenship isn't required, foreign nationals with 3 of the past 5 years of residency in the US would also be eligible.

@paulnovosad After telling ChatGPT-4o that suggestion 1) Kf7 was stalemate, and suggestion 2) g7+ wasn't a viable move because there's a freaking pawn in the way!, it got there on try 3, but ooof.

I thought "beginner-intermediate chess coach" would be an excellent LLM use case, analogous to HS math tutor (where LLMs are excellent). But they are terrible at this and I'm not sure why.

While everyone raves about AIs beating new benchmarks, they are still hopeless at explaining a very simple chess puzzle, something even an intermediate player can do. White to play, what is the strategy to win? The world's best AIs in the replies. 🧵

The population characteristics of those exposed to excessive rainfall and tropical storm-force winds were similar to the population that was forecasted to be exposed.

Approximately 8.9 million people received more than 5 inches of rainfall within 24 hours, an amount high enough to trigger flash flooding. The affected population had a higher proportion of older, Hispanic, and low-income individuals, compared to national averages.
