🇮🇷🇺🇸 People are now talking about sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz, and that’s where things can get messy. Iran reportedly has around 6,000 mines, and the way they use them is pretty simple. Load them on small boats, sail into the strait, drop them in the water, done. Easy to place, nightmare to remove. Once mines are in the water, clearing them is painfully slow. It usually takes around 6 weeks of minesweeping before ships can safely sail through again. Even if the war ended tomorrow, the strait could stay closed for weeks. And here’s another issue. The U.S. pulled its dedicated mine clearing ships from the region earlier this year for decommissioning and replacement, so they are not there right now. Now add the fact that around 15 million barrels of oil pass through Hormuz every day. Shut that route for weeks and suddenly this isn’t just a Middle East problem. That’s a global economy problem. 🚨 BREAKING: 🇺🇸🇮🇷 Sen. Blumenthal after getting briefed on Iran: "We seem to be on a path toward deploying American troops on the ground in Iran to accomplish any of the potential objectives here."

Can everyone just shut up about oil prices... Thanks
