The @DukeMBB had a budget of $21.4 million in 2022-23, the third largest in the country, while the @GatorsMBK had a budget of $8.4 million that ranked 77th in the nation. The other two No. 1 seeds fell in between— @AuburnMBB expenses totaled $15 million and @UHCougarFB equaled $11.1 million.

This week, Edward Martin, the interim US attorney for Washington, DC, sent a letter to the dean of @Georgetown Law School threatening to investigate the school if it did not scrub its policies and curriculum of diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Here is the Dean's response. As a member of the Board of Trustees of Georgetown, I support this letter wholeheartedly. Jesuit education means care for the whole person, in both their spiritual and intellectual lives. And Jesuit practice often involves speaking truth to power.
"As a Catholic and Jesuit institution, Georgetown University was founded on the principle that serious and sustained discourse among people of different faiths, cultures and beliefs promotes intellectual, ethical and spiritual understanding. For us at Georgetown, this principle is a moral and educational imperative. It is a principle that defines our mission as a Catholic and Jesuit institution."

My boyhood hero Brooks Robinson died yesterday at 86. This is a print of a Norman Rockwell painting he signed for me. He was living proof that Leo Derocher was wrong. His 1970 World Series performance will live forever in the memory of Orioles fans. Rest in piece, Brooks.
