A lot of discourse and people not understanding WHY this shoe is important.
Back in 2011 we didn’t get many regional releases (from JB) and the only way to get these in the US was either knowing a guy, communicating through forums, or flying to Tokyo for the drop.

So let me ask you all this: If a store has the upcoming Travis Scott Fragment AJ1 Low & doesn’t backdoor 1 pair, but requires you to purchase a pair of Nike DN8 in order to get the Travis Scott, would you do it? Only reason I ask that way is because if no other purchase was necessary, most would be glad the store didn’t backdoor, but they wouldn’t buy other product as well lol

I got sent this tweet from Raph a bunch of times. A quick reminder that if something doesn’t apply, let it fly. You’re not gonna convince him to change his outlook, so it either becomes an argument or an agreement. Personally, I disagree. I think this waters down the ASW experience to only a series of purchases & if that’s a persons ONLY reason for going, then yes. They should’ve stayed home. But when you factor in the moments, memories, networking, experiences, activations, culture & community at an event like ASW, that $1,200 is light. Just my $0.02.
