Students explored how different “bird beaks” work by testing which tools picked up various foods best. A fun, hands-on way to learn how beak shapes match function! @OquenockWI#WIproud
Our class is celebrating Math Week with a computer based activity based around our favorite numbers. What’s your favorite number? @OquenockWI@Jimi_Grover#WIproud
Makerspace fun! After learning about Louis Braille students got to experience the life of a blind person by creating, reading, and playing games as a blind person would. #WIProud
Field trip to the Fire Island Lighthouse did not disappoint. We learned about its history, lifesaving and climbed all 182 steps to the top. Outstanding views up there. #WIProud@AmandaHarvey04@OquenockWI
Halloween STEM activity for our class today. 👻👻Students built flying ghosts, tested how far they could fly, revised and made their design better and tested again. We have some future engineers in this class for sure. @AmandaHarvey04#WIProud
We found a delicious way to learn about archeology and the study of artifacts. Students were given archeology tools and a “rock”. They had to dig out all the fossils. It was a lot of fun and tasty too. 😉😉🍪🍪🍪🍪😉😉#WIProud@OquenockWI@AmandaHarvey04
We learned how physical weathering breaks down sand and rock in science today. Students were able to see how the abrasion affects the Earth through simulation using sugar cubes and marbles. Well done 4th grade. #WIProud@OquenockWI@AmandaHarvey04
Took our class to see The Wild Robot today. We loved the book and we loved the movie too. A great story about inclusiveness, kindness and helping others. We gave it a 10/10! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡@AmandaHarvey04#WIProud
We had a great day visiting Sagtikos Manor in Bay Shore. We learned about the history of the Manor and its role in historical events such as The American Revolution. ❤️🤍💙 @AmandaHarvey04#WIProud
