The President and his allies are talking about taxes that our state legislature never even voted on and I certainly didn't sign. Why? Because if they don't flood the zone with fake news about fake taxes, people might hear about the bills I am signing to lower energy costs, strengthen our schools, make housing more affordable, and bring billions of dollars of business investment to Virginia.

@SpanbergerForVA We’re glad a Dem is in VA. Republicans cost too much with nothing to show for it.

It was such a pleasure to join my Jewish and Muslim neighbors to Celebrate Mimouna, a Morrican tradition where Muslim neighbors join their Jewish neighbors to celebrate the end of Passover and the return to leavened foods. Rooted in coexistence, neighbors loving neighbors!!

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, The Virginia Legislative Black Caucus celebrates the 24 African-American women currently serving in the Virginia General Assembly. The highest number ever! Standing on the shoulders of The late Senator Yvonne Miller, who was the first Black Woman to serve in the General Assembly, this astounding group of legislators also includes historic firsts: • Senator L. Louise Lucas, first Black Woman to Serve as President Pro Tempore of the Senate of Virginia • Senator Mamie Locke, first Black Woman to Serve as Chair of the Senate Caucus • Delegate Charniele Herring, first Black Woman to Serve as House Majority Leader Charniele Herring (not pictured: Senator Mamie Locke & Delegate Nicole Cole)

“They kicked me off the plantation, they set me free. It’s the best thing that could happen. Now I can work for my people.” - Fannie Lou Hamer Fannie Lou Hamer was born in 1917 and didn't start her activism until 1962 and when she started; she didn't stop until the day she died. Hamer was threatened, assaulted and shot at while she was trying to register to voters. She was able to help thousands of Black people register to vote. She was an activist, community organizer, and the vice chair of the Freedom Democratic Party which she represented at the 1964 DNC. Hamer also organized Mississippi's Freedom Summer along with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). She was a co-founder of the National Women's Political Caucus, an organization created to recruit, train, and support women of all races who sought election to government offices. Hamer died on March 14, 1977, aged 59, in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. Her memorial service was widely attended. She was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in 1993. On January 4, 2025, President Joe Biden posthumously awarded Hamer the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Strive to be a Fannie Lou Hamer. #DemsUnited #BlackHistoryWithLana #WomensHistoryMonth

Today, I am honoring Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day in Virginia. 🇺🇸 Hundreds of Virginians served our country as Tuskegee Airmen. These men and women not only paved the way for the desegregation of the U.S. military — they inspired future generations to serve.
