A bit too moderate I think we can all agree.
I genuinely have no problem with the average citizenry that hasn't been convicted of a violent or imprisonable offence within the last 10 years (aka served their sentence and then 10 years on top of that) owning nuclear weapons.

@Peitho_hint 1. In 2027, up defence spending to 2% of GDP, and up it each year by 1%, so in 2030, we spend 5% of GDP on defence.
2. Leave the monarchy, so we have our own generals, marshals, and admirals.
3. Do a ginormous recruitment drive, so we don't have 5 soldiers for each officer.

This is not the solution.
The solution is to nationalise Foodstuffs and Woolworths under Emergency Legislation for a fixed (means it can't be extended) period of 12 months, and then break them up into their respective brands - all run via a franchise/"owner operator" model.

@Peitho_hint I'm not sure if I'll have a separate white paper (not an X Article - I mean a full doctoral grade research paper) for the military, or whether I should merge it into the social or economic papers.
I have a rough idea on what I want for the NZDF anyway, but I'll decide later on.

That's the required energy in my opinion, however the actual implementation of such a view requires significant care and patience. One can't just snap their fingers and make things the way they want. Additionally, there is a diaspora of New Zealanders out there who have young children born overseas that we'd undoubtedly want here in this country.
