ETHIOPIA 🇪🇹: Thousands of Armed Fighters Accept Peace Option in Central Gondar Zone Thousands of armed fighters in the Central Gondar Zone of Ethiopia have accepted the government's peace initiative, according to the zone's Head of Peace and Security Affairs, Anteneh Tadesse. He stated that significant progress is being achieved through coordinated efforts aimed at restoring peace in the area. As a result of these comprehensive initiatives during the current budget year, thousands of fighters have laid down their arms and embraced the government's peace program. Most of those who accepted the peace option have completed rehabilitation and reintegration training and have already returned to their communities. He also called on the remaining armed groups to recognize the destructive consequences of conflict and choose peaceful means by returning to the peace process. According to AMICO, he further emphasized that the relative peace achieved so far should be sustained.
