@easternrefugee As much as I’d like to agree I had seen rumors where Pickard had been “recalled” aka he left Bakersfield the same time Ungar was called up. They just officially announced it a few days later. I’ll try to find the post. Makes me think this was the plan.

@CaidMorrison Additionally say Indy gets knocked out by KZoo… Our record against the Wings is 7-1-1. So playing one of those two teams is way more ideal than playing a Bloomington team that we have struggled against at times this season.

@CaidMorrison Let’s assume things stay the way they are now… We more than likely lose home ice advantage in the second round. We play a Bloomington team that has given us issues this season (4-3-1) Whereas if they get the 1 slot we play Indy who we have beat consistently (9-2-1)

Nick Deakin-Poot has been released… Hate it for him but definitely understand if he can take his talent and use it instead of sitting in the Arena.

@easternrefugee Wasn’t saying it was the only rationale behind it… Rather saying that it was Pickard leaving Bakersfield to be with Edmonton that resulted in Ungar getting called up for the Bakersfield run. Fans were speculating that Ungar was getting assigned to Fort Wayne.

@KometsKoverage Not true. Coincidence. Ungar was with Orlando. Orlando failed to make the PO. Only the AHL has both ZERO roster/cap space. That is THE why he was recalled. Based on new rules NHL teams can carry a third goalie as a bug and not count sgainst the cap.

@GamerRob418 I believe Ungar is gonna be with Bakersfield for their Playoff Run

@KometsKoverage By my count there are only two or three players that could be sent down to our playoff roster. Brown and Akey. I'm not sure about Ungar but since he ended the season in Bakersfield and played in FW he might still be eligible.

@GamerRob418 @KometsKoverage Good point. Assuming that Wheeling was in Toledo yesterday resting for tonight’s game. We were at home Wednesday but Toledo had to travel yesterday. Big advantage Wheeling……at least on paper.
