Europe is threatening India to be economically sanctioned. अगले हफ्ते मोदी जी की यूरोप यात्रा से पहले यूरोप ने संकेत दिया है कि वह भारत की 80 से ज्यादा कंपनियों को blacklist कर सकता है और Free Trade Agreement पर भी पुनर्विचार हो सकता है। यह संदेश विदेश मंत्री एस. जयशंकर द्वारा फिनलैंड में दिए गए जवाबों के बाद आया है। "Emerging Powers and the New Geopolitical Competition" पैनल में रूसी तेल खरीदने पर सवाल पूछे जाने पर जयशंकर ने कहा कि 140 करोड़ लोगों के देश की अपनी ज़रूरतें हैं और भारत तेल कीमत व उपलब्धता के आधार पर खरीदता है। उन्होंने कहा कि यूरोप ने Middle East का तेल बड़े पैमाने पर खरीद लिया था, जिससे भारत को वैकल्पिक स्रोत तलाशने पड़े। जयशंकर ने हथियारों के मुद्दे पर भी कहा कि यूरोपीय देश वर्षों से ऐसे देशों को हथियार बेचते रहे हैं जिनका इस्तेमाल भारत के खिलाफ हुआ है, जबकि भारत ने कभी यूरोप को खतरे में डालने के लिए ऐसा कुछ नहीं किया। शायद इन्हीं जवाबों से खीजा हुआ यूरोप अब खिसियानी बिल्ली की तरह खंभा नोच रहा है। सनद रहे कि भारत यूरोप को अत्यंत आवश्यक सामान, मुख्यतः दवाइयाँ और खाद्य सामग्री—निर्यात करता है, जबकि यूरोप भारत को बड़े पैमाने पर लक्जरी और अन्य उत्पाद बेचता है। ऐसे में टकराव की स्थिति दोनों पक्षों के लिए आसान नहीं होगी। बाकी अगले हफ्ते मोदी जी यूरोप जा ही रहे हैं, देखते हैं अपनी झोली में से कौन सा तुरुप का इक्का निकालते हैं।
