@Kubes_Lab uses cool imaging techniques to follow immune cells in the gut! "Leader" immune cells guide "follower" immune cells and both are needed to promote healing in the gut.🔬👨🏼‍🔬 #IBDminds2024

Exciting new findings!! Thrilled to share our latest work in @SciImmunology which uncovers how restricted access of newborn Kupffer cells to the bloodstream affects bacterial clearance, increasing risks of dissemination and mortality. As a bonus, we also made it on the cover of the magazine!! Check it out: science.org/doi/epdf/10.11… Huge congratulations to @brunaraujodavid for her amazing work! 🎉

While I study peritoneal macrophages and how they impact healing, I had no idea that the impact of peritoneal cells could be so broad. Cancer, sepsis, endometriosis, scar formation and so much more!!! The peritoneal-summit.com looks truly exciting. See you there!

Today was an incredible @SciLifeLabPrize Symposium where I shared some of my PhD work highlighted in my essay. Also learned so much about sleep in seals, single molecule imaging in the nucleus, molecular glue degraders, and parasites on the verge of extinction! @ScienceMagazine

Congrats to @JoelZindel and co-author @YsbrandNusse on their latest publication in @NatureComms! Check it out for a cool study on peritoneal adhesions after bacterial contamination.
Prof. Joel Zindel, MD, PhD@JoelZindel

Very proud to present our latest paper @NatureComms today. nature.com/articles/s4146…. A thread: Our reseach focuses on post-surgical peritoneal adhesions. The sufferance caused by this chronic disease is substantial and up to date no therapy exists.
