#TeamLHC celebrates a huge success of the official grand opening for the Benoit Townhomes in Lake Charles, LA. This development has a total of 78 affordable housing units built with storm resiliency features. “Our public and private partnerships help us make affordable housing more attainable to residents in Louisiana,” said LHC Executive Director Kevin Delahoussaye. “The Benoit Townhomes will allow residents to feel at ease in their home, allowing them and their community to thrive.” bit.ly/41rdlXp

Another successful groundbreaking in our books! #TeamLHC was happy to participate in the initial construction ceremony for the Esplanade Delille Apartments located in New Orleans, LA. "Today, housing is more than just a roof, walls, and a door," says LHC Executive Director Kevin Delahoussaye. "Housing should serve a purpose to its residents and to its surrounding community. At LHC, we think about the intent behind our projects and how they will benefit everyone as a whole. The lot where the Esplanade Delille Apartments was vacant, but that will no longer be the case." bit.ly/4c5BOGw

Last month, LHC and housing partners brought affordable housing opportunities to St. Tammany Parish through the groundbreaking of Capstone at Covington Place. LHC awarded the project $18M in Multifamily Revenue Bonds (MRB), $979,460 in Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), and, through the partnership with the Office of Community Development, over $15M in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds. “Workforce housing plays a critical role in our state,” said LHC Executive Director Kevin Delahoussaye. “Our housing partners are helping expand and diversify housing options to better serve households across a range of income levels who are seeking safe, affordable, energy-efficient housing.” The project’s anticipated completion date is February 2027. bit.ly/4ma1er4

It’s a Throwback Thursday for #TeamLHC as we reflect on the grand opening of Morningside Gerstner Place in Lake Charles, LA. This brand new affordable housing complex includes 117 units dedicated to those 55 years of age and older. Inside the building, seniors will have access to a fitness room, billiards, and card tables for daily activities. LHC awarded this project through its PRIME-2 program. Through the collaboration with the Office of Community Development, the two agencies were able to award $16.1M in CDBG funds. bit.ly/4c7WcXz

Yesterday, #TeamLHC enjoyed partaking in the latest updates on our affordable housing projects in Southwest Louisiana. We broke ground yesterday on the construction of Capstone at Cedar Street, which is the first new residential redevelopment in DeRidder, LA. It will feature eight buildings and 40 units. In Lake Charles, LHC celebrated the grand opening of Capstone at the Oaks, an affordable housing project dedicated to serving our senior citizens. We are grateful for our collaboration with the Office of Community Development to provide disaster recovery funds to this project.
