Ginn gets a difficult matchup tonight at home against the Pirates. The A's are not in Las Vegas anymore, but this game is in their triple A home in Sacramento at Sutter Health park. This is still a very hitter friendly environment, and it's hot weather with 10+ MPH winds blowing out. PIT has been a sneaky productive offense this season, they've been solid against right-handed pitching. Overall their .255 BA ranks tied for 7th along with the 6th highest BB% vs righties. Pirates create alot of traffic on the bases, 3rd in OBP and are 2nd in OPS, and tied for 3rd in wRC+. In the last 30 days vs righties, PIT has remained productive with a .255 BA and 114 wRC+(.262 BA ans 125 wRC+ in last 2 weeks). Specifically against righty starters this season, PIT has a .271 BA ranking the highest in MLB along with 4th highest SLG. They hit for power well which should bode well in this park. In the past 2+ weeks, PIT has generated 3+ earned runs on 10/11 righty starters. While JT Ginn has shown good surface level numbers overall with a 3.15 ERA, that doesn't tell the story of this spot in particular. He is significantly worse against lefties, and pitches worse at home in their favorable hitters park. Against lefties this year, JT has allowed a .265 xBA and .414 SLG (even worse at home, .300 BA, .301 xBA, .441 xSLG). This is key because PIT will load up lefties here, they have 7 in the projected lineup. Ginn has a brutal 5.85 xFIP at home this season vs lefties, this ranks similar to guys like Sugano, Bello, Littell who have all been horrible. At home Ginn has a 4.70 ERA, 1.63 WHIP, 5.0 BB/9, and just 6.2 K/9. Those stats are much worse than his road numbers of 1.99 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, 2.9 BB/9, and 9.7 K/9. He has even had the benefit of easier matchups at home, only 1 start vs an above avg BA + OBP lineup vs RHP (MIL who generated 5 ER, *game was in Vegas). In 2025 at Sutter Health Park with 60+pitches, JT allowed 3+ ER in 7/9. This season vs teams who rank top 16 in BA, OBP, and OPS vs righties (PIT top 8 in all), Ginn has allowed 3 and 5 ER in his 2 starts and gave up 2 ER twice in 2 relief appearances early in season in just 27 & 32 pitches.
