Police have arrested at least 92 people after supporters of Palestine Action mounted a protest in central London today. The group was banned by the government under terrorism laws last year, but that decision was ruled illegal by the High Court in February. The ban has remained in place, however, to allow the government to appeal against that verdict. Protesters, many of them older people, were carried off by officers after holding written placards declaring their support for the organisation.

We have seen a group of people sit down with signs showing support for Palestine Action. Officers are beginning to make arrests and work through the group. Some are refusing to move so will be carried into custody.
