Happy 90th birthday to Bobby Mason, one of 23 players to have featured for the O’s during their sole season in the First Division (1962-63). Along with fellow new nonagenarian Vic Rouse, Mason’s milestone was marked in yesterday’s #LOFC matchday programme. @_bethmason_x

@pm31970 Not since Tommy Johnston in 1957-58 when he scored forty-three goals in the second tier (thirty-five for us and eight for Blackburn after he signed for them in March).

Tonight marks the first time #LOFC have scored six goals away from home since 18th December 1954 when they won 7-2 at Torquay. The only other time they have achieved that feat was forty-two days earlier (6th November 1954) when they won 7-1 against none other than… Exeter City.

@orientmemories @RichJenkinsF1 There are currently fifteen living former O's aged eighty-five or older. I am unsure of the whereabouts of both Nicholson and Clark - any ideas please @orientmemories? The Eddie Lewis born in 1926 was in fact a goalkeeper who played for us in the 1940's and passed away in 1993.

@RichJenkinsF1 Thanks for pointing out that Don Gibson is apparently still alive at 95. Sadly, Eddie died in 2011, aged 76.

At 91, centre-half Peter Carey is believed to now be Orient's oldest surviving player.

We are extremely saddened to hear that O’s legend Mickey Bullock has passed away, aged 78. Whilst at Orient, Mickey made 308 appearances, scoring 69 goals. The club send their deepest condolences to all of Mickey's family and friends at this very sad time. #LOFC #OneOrient

Clapton Oient 1927/28 season, finished 1 point ahead of relegated Fulham in Division 2

One hundred years on, we continue to remember and commemorate Parsons' heroic life. His fascinating life story was featured in the matchday programme for last years' #LOFC match against Oxford, which was played on Armistice Day.

An inquest was held soon after the funeral and a verdict of "Accidental Death" given. Fireman George Bryant stated that in 26 years, “I have been to several hundred fires and I never saw a wall go out like it[…] As it fell it came in one piece and crumpled up in two seconds".

Parsons and Sharp were then buried at Fireman’s Corner in Highgate Cemetery. In 1934, a memorial for the firemen buried there was purchased and their names were duly inscribed.
