4 years ago, we started a genetic screen for suppressors of C9orf72 dipeptide toxicity, a common cause of ALS/FTD. After many twists and turns, that story was published this weekend in PNAS. Proud of all the students, techs, postdocs that contributed! pnas.org/content/118/40…

By letting the worm tell us what's important through the use of unbiased genetic screening, we gained entirely unexpected insights into the mechanism of C9 DPR toxicity. Importantly, these new mechanisms are highly draggable and may offer new options for ALS/FTD therapy. /END

@BurtonNick I bought 3 fridge-sized Fisher incubators for 15/20/25. Still humming after 15 years. Gives you way more flexibility for screens. Glad I didn’t buy smaller sized incubators
