Myself and the old fella both recorded a Sunday Miscellany during the week, probably an unusual enough moment for the show. A nice experience! His airs tomorrow, on the heroic Captain James Robert Ingram. With the weekend that’s in it next week, mine is on Houlihan and Inchicore

@fallon_donal @declanbyrne23 @LordMayorDublin @DubHistorians @dubcivictrust What I mean is that it makes more likely to have a plaque erected if there are descendents about and active on the issue of commemoration. Or if the drive comes from a specific group such as the DFB, as you've confirmed.

@TurloughADK @fallon_donal Fantastic footage. Great detail including the use of 'City Fire Department' on the hose wagon, the street fire escape being rolled along and the use of the Vajen Bader smoke helmet. A 'train spotters' delight!

Gorgeous footage of late nineteenth century Dublin. The Dublin Fire Department as they were then known wore red shirts, the kind of detail that can go wrong in colourisation. I'd actually love to see the original of this too.
