@RobotMakerGirl My mother worked as a "draftsman"--the traditional name for the field where CAD/CAM has become so crucial. Perhaps if you described his interest as drafting, they might understand better.

Are they just misunderstanding what he is asking, or are colleges only letting traditional artists master design programs? Seems a bit archaic as the programs you use, control much of what he has trouble with when he uses a pencil. What is it he is really looking for? 2/

My brother likes using CAD to design parts, he is very good at it. What he is not great at is pencil in hand art because he has dysgraphia/dyslexia. We have been visiting colleges and when he asks about CAD they direct I'm to pencil in hand art departments. 1/

@lazerwalker @Apple Microsoft did me one better. They deprecated their XNA toolkit and revved compiler versions, so I literally could not rebuild my products. Then they expired my appstore apps that I hadn't updated recently enough.

@SullyBusiness The more I've earned in my career the more guilt I've felt over making bank while sitting in an airconditioned office typing, knowing that the team who picks up trash in my neighborhood is up at 4am getting paid minimum wage to haul rotting filth away in the rain. It's backwards.

It broke my brain when I realized most people making 125k/year don't work significantly harder than many people making 25k/year.
