Despite his politics his colleagues respected him and he got a lot of good things passed on their merit (paid sick and safe leave for one). The curiosity that leads to good ideas breaking through is sorely lacking today.

Alex had a different point of view from most of us, but there were still things we could work on together or amendments that improved a bill. The freezing out and hostility Tammy has faced is unprecedented and unacceptable.

It was a great privilege to work with @CMTammyMorales. As colleagues we advanced investments in pedestrian infrastructure and EDI; and worked on Seattle’s early social housing policy. Looking forward to her continued leadership in the community.

Harris outperforming 2020 by ~4% in the prelim count in a couple of Indiana counties.

First tiny result that I see is 39.5% reported in Sullivan Cnty Indiana. Harris currently at 26.8%. If it holds that’s up from Dem 2020 performance, which was 23.9%.

An EFSEC for housing is definitely something the next Legislature should consider. @jessdbateman

Many don’t realize that the first people Hitler sent to his concentration camps weren’t everyday Jewish citizens, but his political opponents. So, when Trump rants about retribution, locking up his opponents, and giving them “very long sentences,” I can’t help but take him seriously… because history teaches us that is what fascist dictators do during their “Day One” period to consolidate their power. (After all, if you’re hellbent on staying in power but aren’t likely to win the next election, you can’t have your political opponents running around free.) To keep fascism out of our lives, vote for democracy!
