We want to ensure that generations to come can learn how people lived, worked, & played in this historic street. We are therefore working to get the panels professionally stretched, mounted, framed, and displayed for posterity. #LocalHistory #Embroidery #Linlithgow #WestLothian

@LinlithgowCivic & @LinlithgowH have come together for a joint Project to conserve and display the 6 panels of this unique embroidery depicting the High Street in the 1950’s, supported by @OneLinlithgow BID, @TrustLinlithgow, & our Councillors.

#Linlithgow is renowned for its many historic buildings, and sadly, a number of these buildings have been demolished over the years. Christine wanted to preserve their memory, and so has captured them in #embroidery form.

During lockdown, Christine Anderson, owner of local shop Purely Patchwork, & a weel-kent figure in Linlithgow, took the opportunity to set about capturing Linlithgow High Street as it was when she and her friends were young. The result is The Linlithgow Embroidery!
