@KriekWildebeest Everyone is different though, but I felt like sharing this because a lot of my colleagues in the industry doing freelance also found this helpful.

@KriekWildebeest When running self-employment, it helps to have multiple streams of income.
A strategy I did while I was studying in trade school was work part time Uber and DoorDash.
That way, I have commission income, and delivery income to fill the gaps to combat slow weeks.

@greaseyote @DoNutWhole2025 This kinda of hotel policy already exists in many hotels that don’t even host furry conventions for years now. It has always been policy and was not a recent change.
I understand the frustration but saying it’s never been policy is definitely not true.

Let's talk about how this reflects a complete lack of transparency on part of @furcon.
I wouldn't believe for a second that this con wasn't briefed on the change of policy by the hotel. But the con sat on this information, probably for months, to avoid cancellations.

@Nitro_Wolf_902 Age verification is expensive for any company, not just Vrchat.
I think a one time fee or it being behind vrc + is fair and reasonable. Theres no profit from a business perspective so it only cuts their losses.

Age verification should not be blocked behind a paywall. It's a safety feature that other platforms have by default.
The only reason I have to pay for VRC+ is to maintain my group, age verify, and have a custom pfp. Which is BASIC FUNCTIONS of ANY platform.
