actually incredible how studios almost always learn the wrong lessons. backrooms was so successful cause kane parsons is passionate about the material. getting a cashgrab off a random story on reddit isnt gonna have that same success

Hardly the first one to bring it up but an issue with a lot of larger studios doing "The weird outcast" kid trope is how they strip the politics away from outcasts
Aspects of race, sexuality, able bodiedness etc are removed to be as marketable as possible now

I hate how generative AI slop has conditioned me to despise the word AI because this is genuinely a cool thing from TPC (using machine learning to build cool bots that play games, just like we have bots that play chess or go) but my initial reaction to this headline was disgust
