Russia can put out as deep a team as either of country, their goaltending alone would make them a favourite. Centre and defense weak.

I will admit if they played that gold medal game 100 times Canada probably wins 40 of em. Thats what makes this rivalry great. Very evenly matched. Today #USA was the better team. Canada will have a chance to avenge it in 4 years.

@RiggsBarstool Fair point and honestly congrats to USA , 5 on 5 , 3 on 3 , shoot outs .. result could have very well been the same. Watching the Stanley cup playoffs and the just incredible edge of your seat action, the 3 on 3 seems to be designed for a quick ending. Why not just play it out.

I guess I would say this. You had 60 minutes to prove you’re better. SIXTY. So after that they say, ok, you couldn’t prove it at 5 on 5 for an hour, so we’re gonna cut it down and find a winner. It’s not like they played 20 mins of 5 on 5 then 20 mins of 3 on 3. You had 60.
