In response to the Vanderbijlpark tragedy that claimed the lives of 14 schoolchildren, SANTACO will now take full control of scholar transport.
No private vehicles will be allowed to transport schoolchildren. Only taxis registered under SANTACO are legally authorised to do so.
Failure to comply will result in immediate impoundment of unauthorised vehicles.
Public transport on South African roads remains the mandate of SANTACO.

We have been silenced... It's been 13 days since my friend Warrick (DJ Warras) was gunned down in Johannesburg CBD. I am far from being ok really... even though we barely knew each other, he made such a massive impact on my life. I recall our very 1st meeting: Back in September we briefly met for coffee to discuss an idea he had for farming in Zululand.... One of the 1st things he told me was: "What does your family say about your involvement in politics ? Mine are very worried" These words stuck with me yesterday, as I mulled through our hours of conversations about his life, problems and dreams. Being an activist in South Africa has in fact become life threatening. And I can't help but ask myself, why didn't I advise him to stay safe and silent... But we can't change the past. And we now remain silent... My heart breaks for his boys and family. South Africa has lost a brave leader.
