Today I reflect upon the decision I made 3 years ago to the day to come play football at Franklin College. Truly have met some of my best friends here and have been extremely blessed and fortunate to have met all the people at the times I did here. After two years of injuries back to back, I was very close to not being in the position I am today. Through the brotherhood of ΦΔΘ and constant prayer, I found the common theme of patience. Over time, I found myself falling in love with football 10 times over again, and I have taken the last two years day by day working to improve 1% everyday. I was blessed to have a change of perspective this last fall that has led me to wanting to coach after my playing days are over, an avenue that I had never considered amongst my desire to stay connected with the game after I am done playing.
With all that being said, I am extremely excited to announce that I am COMMITTED to Adrian College for the next two years and am extremely blessed to have this door of opportunity opened by the Lord.
Faith in Jesus has been my biggest crutch through all the ups and downs, regardless of how far you or I have strayed in the past, there is constant redemption, opportunity, and grace through his mercy. I am far from perfect in my faith, but it would be wrong to not give all the glory to him because he won’t ever give up on me or you. I’ve found that when things look down and out, when you’ve messed up completely, that is when the Lord speaks loudest to you and when his power to cause transformation is greatest. You never know when he is using you to be a light in someone else’s life, because he is the light of the world, the perfect designer, the master planner, the alpha and the omega— the first and the last. He leaves the 99 to get the 1 astray. And as he has opened this door of opportunity for me, he can transform your life just the same through faith. I pray that his blessings touch everyone who reads this and that his call to relationship is one that you and I receive every day.
