This picture is reported to have been taken on Nov 21, after gunfire erupted during Concord, NC’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. I think it is very powerful - a Pulitzer Prize level shot, with deep meaning. During the incident, four people were shot, three are in critical condition. Concord police arrested three suspects: 18-year-old Nasir Ahmad Bostic; Keyvyonn Rayshaund Bostic (Nasir’s 17-year-old brother); and an unnamed juvenile. I’ll take even money the shooters are “known to police.” The event was canceled. Children and their parents sent home. A Christmas memory turned into a trauma. The city’s Christmas parade proceeded the next day, but with added security, as officials emphasized community resilience amid the “senseless violence.” This scene epitomizes why the American people support President Trump’s law and order agenda. We are tired of scenes like this. We are tired of the violence. We are tired of these people - yes, these barbarians - destroying our wonderful society. Enough is enough. We do not have to live like this.
