BreakingDown19 名古屋大会。 初めての名古屋、そして初めての1万人規模の会場。明日はこの会場がいっぱいになります。 BreakingDownの経営に参画してから約4年。 ここまでの道のりは、決して順調ではありませんでした。 むしろ、うまくいかないことの方が多かったと思います。 初めての興行経営。 未経験からの映像コンテンツ制作。 最初は言うことを聞かない、やんちゃな選手たちと向き合う日々。 スポンサー、PPV、物販、IP。 ずっと赤字が続く中で、経営の手腕を期待されて参画した自分は、どうやってこの事業を成長させていくのか。 新しいマネタイズの形を、手探りでつくってきました。 自社アプリの開発や改善、PPV配信の仕組みづくりもその一環で、10万人を優に超える大規模な同時接続に耐えるための負荷対策や決済の整備や各システム開発はかなり大変だった。 （最初の頃は配信が止まることも何度もあってその度に心臓が止まるかと思ったなー） 出演者や関係者、取引先の反社チェック体制の整備をどこの団体よりも力を入れた自負があるし、現場でのトラブルを防ぐための警備やリスク管理も弁護士や専門機関と連携しながら、守るべきラインを作ってきた。 違法動画や転売にも悩まされてきたけど、各プラットフォームと時に喧嘩しながら、目に見えない部分にも多くの時間とエネルギーを使ってきました。 一つひとつが初めての挑戦で、想像以上に難しくて、 正解がわからないまま進み続ける日々でした。 予想外の出来事やトラブルも重なって、 何度も立ち止まりそうになりました。 それでも続けてこれたのは、 特別な何かがあったわけではなく、 ただあきらめなかった、それだけだと思います。 今回のIGアリーナという大箱で開催する名古屋大会も、最初は、 「おれと飯田がメインで戦わなければ、こんな大きなアリーナ埋まらないよな」 そんなふうに思っていたからおれなりに頑張ったんだけど、 ふたを開けてみれば、おれなんてまったく必要とせずに会場は満員… 誰か一人の力ではなく、 関わってくれた人たちの積み重ねが、 この会場を満員にしてくれたんだと思います。 選手、スタッフ、関係者、 そして応援してくれているファンの皆さん。 その一つひとつが重なって、今があります。 本当は、BreakingDownに関わるみんなにもこれ以上の心配や迷惑をかけたくなかったし、 自分自身も、もう少しすっきりした形で名古屋大会を迎えたかった。 だからJAPAN IS BACKプロジェクトの補償含めた対応についても、 きちんと発表した上で臨むつもりでしたが、 関係各所との最終調整に想定以上に時間がかかっていて、 このタイミングでのご報告がまだできていません。申し訳ありません。 明日は、チーム全員で最高の興行をつくります。最後の最後まで気を抜かず、やりきります。
