We compared ridership from last Monday (a paid day) with the average across three fare-free days. The results show a 60% increase in ridership, equivalent to an additional 528,000 passengers per day. The system is now operating at full capacity so adding 1000 more buses.

The surge in international oil prices amid ongoing global crises has led to a significant increase in petrol and diesel costs in Pakistan. To safeguard our farmers, all wheat-growing farmers in Punjab with landholdings of up to 25 acres will receive a diesel subsidy of 10 litres per acre at Rs. 150 per litre. I stand firmly with each one of you and am personally overseeing the implementation of this subsidy to ensure it remains transparent, effective, and reaches every deserving farmer without delay. Our farmers are the backbone of Punjab. I will always stand by you, protecting your rights and strengthening your livelihoods, Insha’Allah.

بین الاقوامی بحران کے دوران تیل کی عالمی قیمتوں میں اضافہ پاکستان میں پٹرول اور ڈیزل کی قیمتوں میں اضافے کا باعث بنا ہے۔ اپنے کسان بھائیوں کے تحفظ کے لیے، پنجاب کے وہ تمام کسان جن کے پاس 25 ایکڑ تک زمین ہے اور جنہوں نے گندم کی کاشت کی ہے، ہر ایکڑ کے لیے 10 لیٹر ڈیزل @ 150 روپے فی لیٹر کی سبسڈی دی جائے گی۔ میں ہر ایک کسان کے ساتھ کھڑی ہوں اور ذاتی طور پر سبسڈی کے نظام کی نگرانی کر رہی ہوں تاکہ یہ شفاف، مؤثر اور ہر کسان تک پہنچنے والا ہو۔ ہمارے کسان پنجاب کی ریڑھ کی ہڈی ہیں، اور میں ہمیشہ آپ کے حقوق کے تحفظ کے لیے آپ کے ساتھ کھڑی رہوں گی، ان شاء اللہ۔

Till the oil crises is there, Public transport would be free for the people of Punjab. Passengers will no longer need to purchase tickets for the Orange Line Train, Metro Bus, Speedo Bus, or Green Electric Bus. I encourage everyone to make full use of these facilities and choose public transport for a more convenient, affordable, and sustainable way to travel.
