4A State 🏐 Tournament Player to Watch: Topeka Hayden’s sophomore standout Hailey Schmidtlein is a name to watch at this year’s 4A State Tournament. Schmidtlein has been a difference-maker for the Wildcats once again after helping lead both the volleyball and basketball teams to state berths as a freshman last year. This season, she’s averaging 4.7 kills per set while hitting a team-best .318, and she also leads Hayden in total blocks (49) and service aces (45). The sophomore already has 845 career kills and will look to keep adding to that total as the #6-seeded Wildcats head into state this weekend. #sportsinkansas
