In August I started using these same conversion tactics on my own publication. Since then, my conversion rate has increased by 90% & my revenue by 64%. Am a believer and good to see that the tactics Spotify is using work across platforms and publishers. Link in comments:

@Marcute22 We traded reliable networks we owned for unreliable ones we rent. Early on it was 1:1 reach. Then they waited until we were hooked, flipped the algorithm, and started charging tolls on access to our own audience.

Kafka figured this out in 1925. We're still building The Trial in Notion 😅 Here's what I mean: if your AI workflow feels like it kinda works but keeps producing bad output, check these: 1. Does each step in your pipeline know the end goal? 2. Is there a context file that carries the "who is this for and why do we care" through the whole thing? 3. Are you evaluating output against the goal or just against whether the step ran correctly? A workflow that runs without failing is not the same as a workflow that works :)

What Mia didn’t mention was she’s reached 50 Paid subs in SIX days! I hit 50 Paid subs yesterday as well. Difference is it’s taken me 21 months 😆 If you are on SS, and care anything at all about using AI effectively, Mia is a must sub.
Mia Kiraki 🎭@MiaKiraki

Started a newsletter about AI systems and frameworks because I was tired of content that was either too basic or too hype-y to be useful. Didn't know if that gap was real or just me being annoyed. Apparently it's real. #5 rising on Substack this week, 50 paid subscribers in. Feels good to be wrong about whether anyone else was annoyed too :)

@MrComputerSci I quit going to Wendys about 10 years ago when they switched their fries to be rice-batter copy cats of BurgerKing. Before that I ate their once a week at least. But hey, at least they hired a team of wannabe comedy writers to head up their social media.

@MackCollier Don't know. I used to love Wendy's. They had a good reputation for cheap burgers here. Real beef patties cooked on a real grill with fries for like five bucks. It seems like most of the fast food joints took a hard dive around 2020, I swear. It's like they all gave up.

has anyone else noticed that GPT-5.4 often ends its responses with like, clickbait? it often promise to reveal "the one surprising X that will do Y" or something like that

@itswforwumbo @hikingshawty Likely because you want attention from others but aren’t brave enough to drop your guard and risk vulnerability for a chance at real connection. Hopefully that changes for you.

A remarkable moment. In the middle of an interview with my colleague @WilfredFrost, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is called away after a message from the White House Situation Room: “The President wants you right away.” Minutes later he returns — visibly shaken, barely able to speak.

@MrComputerSci Unfortunately, if the floodgates open and a lot of new people join Substack…they will be coming from X, IG and Facebook. So the writing is on the wall lol

@MackCollier Wise advice. Also, very sad. 🥲 I seriously love Substack. Hope it never changes. But... I guess all things always do. Cordially, Mike D

Here's an updated snapshot. Gained 10 clicks + TWO THOUSAND impressions overnight on PithyCyborg.com. I do wish this traffic was going to my Substack instead of my WordPress blog. My branding is... BAD. 😭 Oh well. At least this is... Good news. I think? #Substack #SEO

@MrComputerSci Nice! Exit trigger pop ups do tend to work. Visitors hate them, but they work. Congrats on the movement. If you aren’t seeing traffic move from your website to Substack, it might be a sign to just invest in your website. Substack unfortunately won’t last forever.

I added a badass exit popup to hopefully funnel them to my Substack. (Only works on desktop because the mouse trigger has to land near the top of the page.) Don't know it will work but I hope at least something works for once. Cordially, Mike D #SEO #Substack #AmWriting #AI

I've been publishing high-quality AI tutorials on PithyCyborg.com in an attempt to promote Pithy Cyborg | AI News Made Simple, my Substack newsletter. I have no clue what I'm doing. My conversion is dismal. However, I'm still getting free clicks. I'll take it. #seo #AI

@MrComputerSci @MiaKiraki In your case take your articles that are ranking the best and add a link to your Substack at the end “I go more in-depth on this topic at my Substack” something like that

@MiaKiraki Mia, Just wanted to say THANK YOU for replying. (I consider you and @MackCollier to be two of the best marketers around.) I confess I have no idea what I'm doing, really. Was just testing to see if I could get clicks. Direct on Substack for sure seems wiser. Cordially, Mike D

@MrComputerSci @MiaKiraki years ago I wanted to rank for the term ‘brand ambassador program’, and I started writing articles about what a BA program is, cost setup etc. within a few weeks I had the #1 google result for the term. I picked the article that was ranking the best & added lead magnet to post

@MrComputerSci @MiaKiraki Thanks Mike. If you want to tinker with it on your website, try to target 1-3 AI keywords, then keep publishing articles on those keywords, and link to other posts you have written on the same topic. Over time, Google will associate your site w those terms & you’ll rank higher

WTF? If you drink a lot of water, you will pee it out. That's what your kidneys do (speaking as a kidney specialist). I drink plain water (yes, without salt) almost every day of my life, as did virtually all humans for the last, say, million years. No, I am not worried about 'dehydrating' myself by drinking water. 🙄
