The Oil Lie Oil isn’t rare, it’s also not made from dead dinosaurs. It’s the 2nd most common liquid after water and is the Earth’s lifeblood. It doesn't run out; it regenerates. By extracting it on a massive scale, we are drying out the Earth's gears. This is why there are more earthquakes and creaking faults: we are stripping the oil from the engine. The fossil theory (coined by the Rockefellers and the Smithsonian in the late 19th century) is the greatest economic hack in history. If oil came from organic matter, it would have a biological signature (nitrogen, phosphorus, etc.) that would degrade. Crude oil is pure polymeric hydrocarbon. Ignoring refraction due to varying air density (causing objects below the horizon to be visible above it), the horizon is a hard line, not a gradually fading gradient. This would not exist without curvature.

@chrislowndes @Argen_1816 This is a place in Italy where from more than 260km you can see Alps bare eyes, with good weather. With the gradient of curvature it should be impossible, cause in 260km Alps should disappear anyway.

@chrislowndes @Argen_1816 Telescope not powerful enough. There are places on earth where with very ideal weather conditions is possibile to see places more than 300kms away (impossible with curvature gradient), not being on a mountain.

@Marcello804 @Argen_1816 You don't get a horizon when you are above a flat plane. What appears as a hard line horizon is caused by curvature, not by visibility. Otherwise, one would be able to observe the Manhattan skyline from the West coast of Ireland using a powerful telescope. Why not go do that?
