@TheCinesthetic After 30 years, I still don't understand why this film did not get Oscar nominated for Best Sound or Best Sound Effects Editing 🤔

The downtown shootout in HEAT (1995) still feels like the gold standard. Michael Mann recording the gunfire echoing off real Los Angeles streets gives the sequence a weight and intensity that action movies have been chasing ever since.
