Seed oils entered the food supply at scale in the 1910s. Cardiovascular disease was rare enough in 1900 that Paul Dudley White, who would become Eisenhower's cardiologist, wrote in 1936 that he had seen only three cases of heart attack in his first decade of practice. Cardiovascular disease became the leading cause of death in the Western world by the 1950s. In that same period, butter consumption fell sharply and seed oil consumption rose dramatically. We blamed the butter. We are still blaming the butter.

Who funded the study that said animal fat causes heart disease? The seed oil industry. Who funded the study that said breakfast is essential? The cereal industry. Who funded the study that said red meat causes cancer? Organisations with documented ties to plant-based food companies. Who funded the guidelines that put grains at the base of the food pyramid? Ask who lobbied the committee for two years before publication. Who funds the organisations that certify food as heart-healthy? The food manufacturers who pay for the certification. Who funds the continuing medical education your doctor completed? The pharmaceutical industry, in a substantial percentage of cases. None of this is secret. All of it is in footnotes. Nobody reads the footnotes.

Pozwoliłam sobie na kilka dosadnych uwag wobec polskich tzw liberałów i zaraz posypały się epitety typu „lewactwo”. Drodzy liberałowie starej daty, feudalizm mieszkaniowy się kończy. Czas na nowy model rozwoju: dla młodych w całej Polsce, dla 🇵🇱 innowacyjnych przedsiębiorstw, dla klasy średniej. I my taki model rozwojowy proponujemy. Teraz często wygląda to tak: Załóż start-up -> pierwsze zyski -> sprzedaj firmę -> kup tyle mieszkań ile się da -> zostań landlordem, trzep łatwą kasę, a zyski chomikuj w swoim raju podatkowym - fundacji rodzinnej. Ceny mieszkań idą w górę. Młodzi nie widzą przyszłości. A pracownicy i ci, którzy chcą uczciwie prowadzić firmy - płacą za siebie i jeszcze za tych, którzy uciekli do raju podatkowego. My proponujemy model: start-up -> innowacja -> produkt -> średnia firma -> giełda -> globalna 🇵🇱 marka Kiedy start-up rośnie i skaluje - dostaje wsparcie na technologie i dalszy rozwój. Plus likwidacja polskich rajów podatkowych Czyli Mieszkania służą do mieszkania. Od pomnażania oszczędności jest giełda, na której pieniądze ludzi spotkają się z polskimi innowacyjnymi spółkami. A zamiast spółdzielni PRP ( polskie raje podatkowe) są sprawiedliwe podatki. Tak działa #WyrazisteCentrum

58,000 Americans died in Vietnam. Over 3,000,000 Vietnamese died. And for fifty years, American culture has centered the grief of the 58,000 while treating the 3,000,000 as a backdrop. As scenery. As context. As "the Vietnam War experience." They built a wall in Washington with American names on it. A beautiful wall. A solemn wall. Good. Mourn your dead. But understand what that wall does not say. It does not say why they died. It does not say what they were doing there. It does not say what was done in their name to the people whose country it actually was. It does not mention My Lai, where American soldiers massacred an entire village, old men, women, children, babies, and the officer who ordered it served three years of house arrest before being pardoned. Three years. House arrest. Pardoned. For five hundred people murdered in a ditch. It does not mention the 2.7 million acres of Vietnamese forest doused in Agent Orange, a chemical weapon disguised as herbicide, that is still deforming Vietnamese children today. Not in 1970. Not in 1985. Today. Children born in 2020 with bodies twisted by a war their grandparents fought. And the chemical companies that made it are still in business. Still profitable. Still un-prosecuted. And yet they send us human rights reports. They grade our democracy. They warn us about our behavior. The audacity is so enormous it becomes almost impressive. Almost.

Vegetables are not superfoods. They are the dietary equivalent of a participation trophy: present at every meal, given enormous credit, and quietly underdelivering on almost every metric that matters. The nutrients people cite: iron, calcium, magnesium, are bound inside plant cells in forms that your gut absorbs at a fraction of the rate you'd get from meat. Spinach iron. Kale calcium. Beautiful numbers on paper. Functionally approximate to eating the paper. Then there are the pesticides. UK vegetables are sprayed an average of seventeen times before they reach your plate. Not once. Seventeen. The organic option costs three times the price and gives you instead a different set of compounds the plant produced to deter the insects eating it. The plant does not want to be eaten. It has opinions about this, expressed chemically. Oxalates. Lectins. Phytates. Glucosinolates. These are not obscure biochemistry: they are the reason some people's joint pain, bloating, brain fog, and skin issues disappear when they stop eating the foods everyone told them were healing them. Here's what actually works: put the vegetable through a cow. Let a ruminant with four stomachs and 50 million years of evolutionary adaptation handle the antinutrients, detoxify the lectins, concentrate the minerals into bioavailable form, and hand you back something your cells actually recognise. The cow did the work. The vegetables were the raw material. Eat accordingly.

Długo to trwało, ale spróbowałem 😃. Beyond Burger, amerykańskiej firmy Beyond Meat przetestowane. Celem firmy od początku było stworzenie produktu o identycznym smaku jak mięso. Czy to się udało w Beyond Burger? W mojej ocenie w dużym stopniu tak, choć nie jem mięsa od blisko 30 lat i niezbyt dokładnie kojarzę jego smak. Białko roślinne tworzy podstawowy szkielet, oleje roślinne odpowiadają za soczystość i topnienie podczas smażenia. Włókna i polisacharydy (np. metyloceluloza) - nadają strukturę przypominającą włókna mięśniowe. Barwniki i dodatki smakowe - imitujące barwę i smak umami. W trakcie smażenia widać czerwony płyn mający naśladować krew (sok buraka I granatu). Już wkrótce dodatkiem być może będzie roślinny hem już uzyskany metodą metodą fermentacji. Wtedy taki produkt smakowo niczym nie będzie się różnił od mięsa. Jest to produkt przetworzny, choć w składzie nie ma żadnych podejrzanych produktów. Bardzo dobry dla osób, które lubią smak mięsa, ale nie chcą go jeść ze względów etycznych. Dla mnie zbyt "mięsny". #govegan #vegan #weganizm #etycznejedzenie

They called Hồ Chí Minh a tyrant. A man who spent decades in exile, in prison, living in poverty, organizing resistance to colonial occupation. Who wrote poetry. Who quoted the American Declaration of Independence in Vietnam’s own declaration of independence, word for word, because he believed those words meant something. He believed America, of all countries, would understand what it meant to fight a colonial power for the right to self-governance. America sent bombers. Think about the layers of that humiliation. A Vietnamese revolutionary quoted Jefferson and Madison to appeal to American values. And the American response was napalm. Because it was never about freedom. It was never about democracy. It was about control. It was about which countries get to be self-determining and which countries exist to serve someone else's interests. It was about making sure that when Washington said "jump," the government in Hanoi would ask "how high." Hồ Chí Minh was not willing to ask that question. So they tried to destroy him. They destroyed nothing. He died in 1969, before the war ended. And the country he gave his life for won anyway. His face is still on the currency. Theirs is not.

Let's clear something up right now. Yesterday was NOT a panic, it was actually pretty orderly. If we zoom way out we can see the spikes on daily volume that coincide with capitulatory panic selling events, as you can see we aren't even close yet. That's not to say everything is all sunshine and rainbows, there is certainly a lot more downside to be had, pick your poison on trend support, the 2009 bottom support/resistance mean line or the 2020 bottom trend support line, either one has no less than 11% more room to the downside before we can entertain the possibility of capitulation. Now we will absolutely see face ripping bear market rallies along the way, but I'd be willing to bet that before 2026 is over we will undercut the dashed 2009 line, by how much entirely depends on the kind of economy we are in once things really get moving to the downside. To make a long story short, we've only just begun to see this market crack.
