But signing a message based off the snapshot only prove that you had an allocation. Not that you claimed it. If they wanted to avoid being compelled by governments to sign a message to prove the original wallet of their night allocations. Then perhaps the output on the PDF was the only proof? I like to hope so anyway for the sake of privacy. I hope iohk doesn't have a ledger of everybody's claims, kind of defeats the point

i didnt even partake in the scavenger hunt, that's why i don't understand how it could of got messed up. I heard there was a potential bug that it would pick a random destination address from a previously connected wallet, so im working on going through all of those now. That's my exact thought though, there was a clearly announced snapshot, they should have my address in there and let me sign as proof of ownership. Problem is there is 0 support after the PDF

As much as i love NIGHT and the mission behind it... The claim process and redeem processes do not work well, and have not since day 1. First it was a ledger issue, then crosschain wasn't working, then the ledger stuff was fixed and then it wasn't. The entire thing was chaotic and not properly tested. Now, myself, along with several other people, have redemption dashboards that are not reflecting the value we saw in the claim process. I know it's crazy to complain about something that's "free", i just thought this entire process would be laid out a lot easier to maximize redemption claims. None of it makes sense to me, why do i need a PDF when i have direct access to the wallet i'm trying to make my claim from? Been holding ADA for 5 years and because i didn't save a pdf now my claim cannot be justified, even though i still have access to the same wallet that made the claim. None of this has to do with NIGHT mining, just simply claims from my ADA. Make it make sense. 1/60th of my supposed allotment.... Hindsight is 20/20 but the entire thing could of been done better and made entirely less confusing. Would love to take a stab at design and execution of a portal like that. Also, a big bold warning that if you don't save your PDF you are s.o.l. would of been nice. Definitely leaving a sour taste in my mouth. Hope everyone else is redeeming successfully, i am at the point of just saying f'it.

@VivalaCoinBTC @CashAnvil I used my ledger!? lol All you had to do was paste your address manually to the claims portal. Then I used my Ledger on eternl to sign the message

I am gonna go out on a limb and actually say this is pretty cool. Nakamoto style consensus without proof of work is extremely hard to build. The protocol functioned as designed in the presence of bugs.

I'm an ex SPO. I shut down as I just was late and didn't get the stake to make it viable. Still wish I was in it though. It takes a lot of effort to maintain a stake pool, and a lot of responsibility to be a guardian of the network. Don't be disparaged by the incident, the network needs diversity in all forms. Node version, promptness to update, geographic diversity, political diversity. They all played a role in making the network strong and resilient. Keep at it, and thank you

After yesterdays events I am thinking of retiring RUMOR stake pool. Luckily RUMOR was running an older version that was not buggy and we kept the chain alive - but if that was not the case I would not be ready to upgrade in time. I was in Intersects workshop in London 1/n

Browser does one solution and stops. Fetcher will solve one, then do it again for the next unused address in the wallet, up to 200 addresses I was solving about 120 solutions an hour (per server) before the difficulty went up. A browser was solving 1 an hour. I've mined about 25,000 NIGHT so far

@astroboysoup @cwpaulm @PoolShamrock It's definitely another way to do it. I haven't found it to be any quicker than running browsers on my old machine honestly.

The Fetcher Bot outperforms the standard website miner by a wide margin. If you're not using it, like I wasn't, then you'll be far behind others who are. Thanks @cwpaulm @PoolShamrock. I might be able to catch up a little.

I just bought a new video editing rig for my wifey. All my research was done by copy and pasting 30 odd marketplace listings in to AI and asking it to rank them for performance to $ and also, told it exactly what software she uses to optimise for timeline scrubbing for her exact video format. It did well. Got a Intel Core Ultra 7 265K 20 Core, Z890 Chipset, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB, 32GB 6000MHz RAM, 2TB M.2 SSD Second hand, in warranty for 63% of new price. I used to watch videos about 'latest tech' and I still do to a degree, but looking at charts on a video won't compare to the finesse of getting AI to provide exactly what I needed for my exact use case. I watch tech videos as it's a hobby, for the fun & entertainment value these days. Not for specs.

Looking at everyone's channels lately has me wondering, is the PC gaming genre cooked? In the 13yrs I've done this, things seem to be at an all time low regarding consumer interest.

@GilgameshBTC @SebastienGllmt You don't even need multiple wallets, just multiple unused addresses from the same wallet. This will make it cheaper in the end as you don't need to move ADA around between wallets. You can fire up a browser in a Docker environment. My 20 core server is getting punished.

@SebastienGllmt can we address how easy is to just have multiple wallets mining per person?

With so many people participating in Scavenger Mine, I think it's an objective success! Super excited about our upcoming roadmap for Midnight as well. Unique, compelling, and something I think will resonate with both builders and users
