BUFFALERT: The Buffalo Skyway has reopened. Drivers should continue to use caution as winter conditions remain.

BUFFALERT: Due to weather conditions, Buffalo City Hall will have an early release at 11:30 AM today. Please plan accordingly. City services remain available at buffalony.gov

⚠️ Travel Advisory Issued: The City of Buffalo has issued a travel advisory effective immediately due to gusty winds and incoming snow that may create extreme whiteout conditions and hazardous travel. Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel.

The @NWSBUFFALO is forecasting wind gusts now projected to reach up to 75 mph across our region. Please use caution, secure loose outdoor items, and be prepared for possible power outages and fallen trees or debris. 🚨 For life-threatening emergencies, call 911. 🧹 For non-emergencies, call 311. ⚡ To safely report a power outage at your residence, contact National Grid at 1-800-867-5222

⚠️ TRAVEL ALERT - WNY: Beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday morning until further notice, an empty tractor trailer and tandem ban will be in place on the NYS Thruway mainline (I-90) in both directions from exit 46 (Henrietta) to the Pennsylvania border, and the Niagara Thruway (I-190).

TRAVEL ADVISORY - I-190 BUFFALO: Due to the forecasted high winds, the Skyway will close at 6 a.m. Access to the Skyway off of I-190 will be blocked until further notice. Motorists are advised to find alternate routes.

Strong to damaging winds likely Monday up to 70 mph within the High Wind Warning (see graphics for your area). All other areas, wind gusts potentially up to 55 mph. Take action now to secure all holiday decoration and any loose items. Prepare now in the event of a power outage.

A very active week of weather ahead. A strong storm system will bring a multitude of hazards to the region today through Monday night, with heavy lake effect snow expected downwind of the lakes through much of the week.
