Modern strikes are far less effective because unions were systematically boxed into a legally constrained role that necessitated abandoning their more disruptive tactics. I believe a strike that operates outside of the law would be just as effective today as it was a century ago.

Every single time a company tries to close a business after workers unionized the legal right to the business and it's assets should automatically be transferred to the union.
Closing stores to crush unions is economic terrorism and bosses must face consequences.
