@1goodtern We’re still getting the vaccines (I got Novavax last fall) but my child isn’t able to, due to a medical condition. (She had the first round, and 1 booster.) We mask, but I’m worried for her.

@thedigitalyenta My husband does this (only bc he knows *I* want to lose weight - he thinks my weight is fine), and it drives me crazy bc it is NOT as easy for women. Especially over 40.

🧵I’ve been covid cautious for 5 years now (2 yrs of which I’ve had Long Covid). I don’t know anyone else my age in the UK who is Covid cautious & people always just assume ‘my mum is making me’ but I do this for myself and for others. It’s my choice and it’s a good choice.

I had a chat today with one of my fiercest daily life critics. Late 60s, sincere, hard working, generous, kind, but bafflingly angry about any covid mitigations, right from the word go. They've had Covid at least three times now.

@1goodtern Chicken pox comes back fifty years later as shingles, what someone described as, "The worst pain ever, worse than childbirth." Influenza from 1918 came back as cardiac issues we saw starting in the '50s onward. But let's go ahead and infect an entire generation of children.

Okay, the face shield is unnecessary until I get into the train or to my NYC appointment but I don’t really care what people think. And I wore way too many jackets and hoodies thinking it was freezing out so now I look massive AF AND I’ll overheat too lol 🥵😂😂😂 A reminder that lifting healthcare mask mandates was the wrong thing to do. The one space that you should feel safest and best taken care of is in a medical setting - taking that away from millions is a step in the wrong direction. Public spaces deserve masks as well. Anyone who tells you multiple infections make you stronger is LYING. We already have data that correlates with damage from COVID infection for every organ system in the body.
