@yarubibnqahtan No I am saying they do have it whereas Vietnam didn’t, however nobody is truly self-sufficient. Not even the North Koreans can be self-sufficient and depend on global markets despite decades of marginalization.

@maoisthnvx_25 The secret to “identity politics” was that it only worked in majoritarian terms. Centering identity as your politics for a minority is disenfranchisement. The idea Democrats could serve multiple different competing interests as a “big tent” proved to only serve careerists.

“Emerging markets” (aka the third world) are the highest performing right now. The third world has a future to grow into while the first is weighted down with the maintenance costs of fixed capital and is reduced to stripping the copper out of the walls just to restore profit.

@yarubibnqahtan They ARE getting support from Russia and China though. 🤷‍♂️ communism had to fail in the USSR to mend the Sino-Soviet split and now there’s an ad-hoc second world reforming by necessity. The fact Iran has a tech-industrial base means America’s defeat will be regional in scope.

What do these guys think is going to happen to Israel’s gas supply now? Americans don’t really have anything to fear from escalation because we’re on the other side of the planet, but Israelis act like escalation isn’t even real. Chemical refineries just do that sometimes.

Israel confirmed the strikes. IDF said the facility produced materials for explosives and ballistic missiles This is a major economic strike targeting Iran’s petrochemical export revenue and weapons supply chain. This didn’t target its domestic gasoline supply.
