So... about Mini Tank Mayhem's launch date. We were all set to roll out in March, and then Slay the Spire 2 announced the release date. People will probably be busy playing STS 2 (and so are we). After some thought, we decided to push our launch back a bit. But hey, every delay is an opportunity. We've been tweaking a lot with balancing and new stages in @MiniTankMayhem Long story short, we decided to make adjustments on the stages in order to make them more dynamic It took a while than we expected, but what do you think?

Got our playtest results back yesterday. 8.7 user experience score. Up from 6.7 a few months ago. Nice. 90% said they want to play again. 80% felt their choices mattered. Still Nice. we were happy. I made some coffee. Sat down to read the details. That's when things got interesting. 👇

So we made damage numbers scale with tank power. Now when your buffed tank fires, you see this fat "95" damage pop up. It feels satisfying in a way it didn't before. We also made some combos more rewarding overall. You can see it in the video. The enemy on the right is an Obsidian. It can only be damaged by big hits (it shows really small "0"). The one on the left is a regular enemy that should die instantly, but I made it immortal for the video so you can see the numbers. I think it works. We find out at the next playtest.

Took me us few days to understand what went wrong. Slay the Spire has one character. You buff it, you see big damage, you feel smart. "Hey, I make 50 damage using the Omega card." Player combos shown in the screen. We have many tanks on screen. Players buff a tank, then forget which one. combo just stats. Players won't check their tank's stats one by one. It doesn't feel satisfying.
