Can someone read this and explain why OFSTED are blaming the school/teachers/teaching for attendance issues here? This inspector comment made me laugh: "Some teachers did not routinely address the subsequent gaps in their knowledge... these pupils can struggle to access the new learning that is being taught" - er yeah, have you ever taught classes where loads of students are continually absent/in/out!? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
