Annie’s success comes from her competitive drive. Ashwin’s is from knowing what needs to be done and doing the bare minimum to tick the marks. He’s planned out his whole college scholarship strategy with research and is simply ticking the box. His mental stability is much better.

It’s been a week and I’m still thinking about what my 14-yo son said when I asked him how he goes about achieving success: “Doing the bare minimum required for the result needed.” The boy is a straight A, top of class, scholarship student. Something important is going on here:

Back in the combination Target/CVS here in central Ohio to get the new booster, talking to the pharmacist about how busy they’ve been with vaccinations, thinking, okay, team, we’re doing great! We’re in this together! And then a dude hocks a loogie on the floor in the lamp aisle.

Obsessed with this. Absolutely deranged. A complete massacre of the original. Each note more wild and unpredictable than the next. Ending with a cocky kiss, like she just fucking killed it. 100% perfect. No notes.
