Our generation has so many “where were you?” moments - the Regan assassination attempt, Challenger, 9/11. Our kids get to reminisce about Covid and (gestures broadly) whatever the hell this is now.

I’ll never forget that day, but even so I didn’t really recognize the anxiety I felt watching the launch last night until I saw other people talking about it. The way I held my breath when the video feed cut over suddenly, and looked for Artemis news when I woke up today.

In case another GenX voice is needed: we absolutely watched it live. My 9th gr bio teacher had been a finalist in the Teacher in Space program, and we were in her classroom for the launch. I remember the other teachers rushing in after the explosion, and being sent to PE

I know it's been 40 years and some of you were still sperm in your father, but all y'all screeching NO KIDS WATCHED THE CHALLENGER EXPLOSION are not only stupid, you're pig ignorant. 1) A teacher was on board as an astronaut 2) Lot of teachers wheeled TVs into their classrooms so that kids could watch a teacher fly into space. 3) Those kids saw the Challenger explode One of the worst videos I saw was of Christa McAuliffe's (the teacher in question) classroom -with a sub teacher- watching the video as the Challenger exploded.

For further context, these were families who came to see a new Pixar film opening weekend, but didn’t know enough to stay for the mid- and post-credit scenes. So not the rabid fanbase who clap for the Pixar logo.

My guess, having only seen the official and media photos, is that Disney spent all of their $$$ and effort on the public spaces, and left the staterooms as originally planned.

I didn’t read the captions fully, and wondered why they’d let you tour a crew cabin. I’m shocked and frankly disappointed in how plain and utilitarian these rooms are.

Before anyone @ me, I’m aware that there are other options on this ship. That said, a stateroom should be a place to relax, and that room doesn’t even look comfortable. I’ve done 7-night and 14-night cruises in an inside stateroom - I wouldn’t book this for me.

Thank you @Delta for taking such care with my husband’s wheelchair today at DTW The White Glove team did great, and they worked with him to figure out how to get the chair onto the aircraft without putting it on its side. Even better, it was ready at gate side @flyLAXairport
