There are men who will text “I miss you” and immediately go to sleep.
Then there is Abbas. He put on a Hijab, adjusted his voice, risked being disgraced, beaten, arrested, and turned into the biggest topic in Yobe just because he wanted to see his girl.
William Shakespeare would have looked at this and quietly opened a notebook. This is the kind of foolish, reckless, dangerous love that built stories like Romeo and Juliet. Not because it was wise. But because it was so intense that common sense stopped working.
Imagine the planning. Borrowing clothes. Sneaking through the street. Rehearsing how to walk. Hoping nobody notices your voice is too deep or your slippers are size 46. Then entering another man's house knowing that if you are caught, you are finished.
And he still went.
People should stop saying Nigerian men are not romantic. Some of them are out here risking their freedom, their dignity and the possibility of becoming a permanent family story told every Christmas.

The killings in Jos are a national tragedy. He should have arrived quietly, without any fanfare. Unfortunately, his team completely misread the optics.

The President has no business going to Jos if he was going to turn at the Airport. If it was a campaign, he will enter nooks and crannies of that State to solicit votes. Lives were lost, citizens are panicking and all you could do was a consolation speech at the AirPort? Even had the relatives who just lost their people dress up to meet him. A waste of everybody’s time.

Dear @SarkinMota_AMF me and two of my friends were actually planning to buy a cars from you, but after seeing the situation and the negative tweet, we decided to pause.
For us, this is about trust and reputation. If the issue is addressed properly, it shows the claims are false and we’ll feel confident moving forward with you and even recommending others.
But if you forgive the boy because he apologized, then it raises doubts, and we won’t be comfortable doing business.
We’re watching how this is handled and hope you take the right steps.

You don’t get to put years of my hard work and everything I’ve built on the line, then dismiss it as an April Fool’s joke. That kind of misinformation has real consequences, and it affects not just me but the people connected to my brand. This also isn’t the first time something you’ve done something like this, which makes it even harder to overlook. If this behavior keeps being excused as a joke, it will continue to damage people’s reputations unfairly. At some point, there has to be accountability, this time you must be held accountable. This goes beyond a simple apology.
