Dosbarth 5 have been continuing their learning about measures this week, this time thinking about mass. We checked the printed measurements on the food packets, and ordered the items, as well as checking with our own measures. We can use grams and kilograms! @garntegprimary

Beth syn bod? Dosbarth 5 have been using their Welsh games this week to learn new sentence patterns. Year 3 are practising vocabulary of body parts to answer Beth syn bod, and Year 4 have been practising their prepositions knowledge. Bendigedig pawb! @garntegprimary @MissDGrimas

This week we noticed instruments in our curiosity cube! We have been answering our questions about instruments and finding out how they make sounds! We researched families of instruments and how different types of instruments produce sounds in different ways! @garntegprimary

Dosbarth 5 have been listening to and responding to music today. We are thinking about the dynamics, pitch and tempo when listening and how the music makes us feel. We represented what we heard through visual scores! Da iawn pawb! @garntegprimary

Ffrindiau o gwmpas dydd gwener! We have been assessing our knowledge, updating digital profiles with our favourite recent work and choosing our own spelling and grammar challenge. We had to spot the mistakes using our knowledge of punctuation and spelling skills! @garntegprimary

Dosbarth 5 have been creating their own musical glossaries today, to help us learn musical language. We will be using these next to help us plan our own musical soundscapes, and write about sounds and instruments we have heard! @garntegprimary

Dosbarth 5 are learning about the features of diaries! We have been looking at examples and searching for features. Today we are practising 1st person language, imagining ourselves in scenes from our class book to describe the experience from our own perspective! @garntegprimary

Class 5 had a fantastic week back, exploring our new topic 'The hills are alive with the sound of music'. We have been sharing our learning ideas, collecting data about our favourite insturments and artists, and updating our sparkle learning profiles! @garntegprimary

Class 5 hope you will join us tomorrow for our Garnteg Christmas market! We have been #ambitiouscapablelearners getting ready for the event, including measuring our ingredients and following recipes to make some tasty Christmas treats! @garntegprimary

Pupils in class 5 wanted to create a Welsh school area where they could share and learn language skills from each other! During ffrindiau o gwmpas dydd gwener we put this new area to good use, including peer teaching and feedback! You are independent learners! @garntegprimary

It’s ffrindiau o gwmpas Dydd Iau! we are bringing our skills together to complete our food growth project. We are using our recipes to cook products, label and price them, and write ingredient lists. Da iawn! We hope to see you in the hall after school! @garntegprimary

By popular demand, we are having our ‘Food Glorious Food 2025’ event in the school hall on Thursday 23rd October 2025 at 3:15pm. The children are busy in their classes making items to sell using fruits and vegetables from our allotments and orchard!
