Mt Hampden’s industrial landscape is set for a major boost as the Century Auto Assembly Plant reaches 95% completion. The US$10 million facility is expected to start vehicle production soon, pending approvals, and will create over 150 jobs while producing up to 50 vehicles per shift. Thank you very much for taking this conversation far. And far it has gone beyond boardrooms and cabinet as I had envisaged , to the church and international development agencies.
As we learnt in high school, the point is not always who is right or wrong. Sometimes the evidence simply sits in front of us and asks to be read. This picture tells us a great deal about Zimbabwe and its present condition.
It is now for our leaders, both in the state and in boardrooms, to decide what policy and strategy should follow. The rest of us can only help them see Zimbabwe as it truly is: literally and metaphorically.
There is a whole political economy in this single photograph. You only need to look.
P.S. Markets respect property rights. They are old fashioned that way. And no, I’m not just talking about OK property.

I would like Cabinet, Parliament and council to sit with this photograph for an afternoon. In fact, every high school teacher, whatever the subject, should ask students to write an essay on what they see here. The answers would probably take us closer to the solution to Zimbabwe’s problems than most policy papers. Every boardroom should spend time with it too. For good measure, the Zimra board should take it on a weekend retreat and ask its economists to calculate how much OK has paid in taxes over the past decade. Then they should look again at the pavement outside. I am keeping this photograph for my book.

Brazil are my tentative pick to win the World Cup. Raphinha and Vini big threats. A revived Casemiro and Bruno Guimaraes, Marquinhos and Gabriel at back. Alisson in goal. Some spine. Won’t mind conditions ( won here in 94). Plus Ancelotti to get mentality right.

I’m in my final stretch of my MBA at @GIBS_SA and I don’t think I share this side of my life nearly enough. This season of building has felt fragmented at times like I’m managing different worlds all at once. There have been moments when I’m submitting an assignment, pushing new music and producing live events at the same time. It’s felt challenging, exhausting and fulfilling at the same time.
My vision is clear I want to build a sustainable artist business and I want to see many other especially female artists do it too.
For now I live and breathe the dream one day at a time 🤍
