For our happiness & creativity week, I told the students if they want to teach a lesson on something that makes them happy to develop a lesson plan, and if I approve it, they can teach the class. Today 2 girls taught the class about splits and important stretches! @Newark_KS

We may not have had a snow day at @Newark_KS but we did have a snowball fight to find decimal problems. But watch out for that pesky "yellow snow" that has you do jumping Jacks, push-ups, or sit-ups ❄ exercising our minds and bodies in 5th grade today.

Played some connect four as we answered questions and made inferences about what life lessons the characters were learning. Quick way to boost engagement and have a little fun while learning. 😊 #ncsdlearns @Newark_KS

@lfzalacca and our "kits" surprised me with a baby shower! The kids were so excited and showered me with so much love. I am so grateful.@Newark_KS

"OperationB" was a code in my class for a few days as his friends made him this collage of pictures because they felt bad he hasn't been able to participate in PE. We have the best community in our class🥰 @Newark_KS

My 5th grade scholars prefer hands-on activities so we introduced volume with a fun activity. Build a rectangular prism, find its two formulas, then have friends try to build the same prism with only the formulas they wrote! @Newark_KS #ncsdlearns
