Like most microaggressions, it's unintentional and preventable. Take the care to know names, especially ones that don't come easily to you, and don't call a person by a name unless you know it's theirs. #edutwitter

As a white teacher, I can more easily identify and differentiate white faces. When I confuse names of minority students, it communicates that they are interchangeable and it's not worth my time to know something that's central to their identity.

After many Goodwill attempts, had to order a few uniform jacket/cardigans for my sweatshirt-loving 6th grader to wear in class this fall. The one she liked offered embroidery for $8 extra.

School all day, make-up in my classroom, dress rehearsal for Shrek all night, go to bed and repeat. I'm tired and I'm barely doing anything 😆

Very cool to see a Morton grad, still in the community, educating youth and adults, and helping them get great jobs! My favorite use of Autocad when I was a little kid was making arrays. I still remember how to do a few things!😆

Such a cool trip to @mortoncollege with @HeritageD100 8th graders! I got to be in the CAD dept with head Luis Sanchez, who graduated from @Morton201. He was taught at Morton East in the 80's by Mr. Urban and Mr. Mann, coworkers of my dad who also taught CAD at East/West!

@DeyseGarcia5 I am told today was the best day of someone's life. 😆 One of the highlights was that 6 instead of 4 people could be at the Codable station or something like that. 🤣🤣 I can't believe we only have one more quarter of kindergarten! 😭
